FOOL EXPRESSION
✨ What if you could move freely between the different parts in you?✨
There are moments where something in you feels unclear, or hard to grasp.
You might notice different reactions, emotions, or impulses moving through you, sometimes quite quickly, sometimes in ways that don’t fully make sense, or that feel contradictory. One part of you wants something, another pulls away. Something feels alive, and at the same time something holds it back.
It can be difficult to really understand what is happening inside, not just mentally, but in a more direct and embodied way.
Fool Expression is a space where you can begin to slow this down and come into a more precise awareness of your inner world. Not only to express it, but first to recognise it, to feel it, and to start seeing the patterns, dynamics, and inner architecture that shape how you move through life.
It is a practice of embodiment, parts work, voice, emotion, connection and exploration of our psyches, where the full range of your experience is welcome.
Fool Expression invites you to explore the different inner voices or parts that shape how you move through life. Some are familiar and easy to express. Others are quieter, hidden, or have not had much space.
Through embodied play, witnessing, and shared exploration, you begin to recognise how these parts interact, how they influence each other, and how certain patterns repeat themselves. Over time, this brings more clarity, more space, and more choice. Expression then comes from a place that is more connected, rather than something that is pushed or forced.
In this practice, the Fool archetype refers to the inner capacity to move between different aspects of yourself.
It is not about being funny or foolish, although play and humour can arise. It is about curiosity, openness, and the willingness to explore both known and unknown experiences within.
The Fool is the part of us that can journey from one aspect of ourselves to another, embodying and exploring each of them fully, and then stepping out again. This creates space for something else to emerge, and for a centred in-between awareness to develop.
Over time, this supports a deeper sense of safety, flexibility, and access to the life force that lives within each aspect of us.
Fool Expression also allows different inner voices to interact. Through this interaction, patterns and dynamics become visible, often reflecting what is happening in our lives. What might usually stay internal begins to take shape in a way that can be seen, felt, and explored.
As participants, we play not only for our own exploration, but also in service of the group. In the same way, witnessing others often brings unexpected insight into our own experience.
This shared exploration builds trust, connection, and a strong sense of belonging.
Fool Expression brings conscious gathering and the magic of theatre back into the centre of the community. It is a place to explore, to recognise, to express, and to be as you are.
What this can open
As you begin to recognise more clearly what is happening inside, something shifts.
Experiences that felt confusing or overwhelming can start to make more sense. You begin to see how different parts of you relate to each other, how certain patterns are formed, and how they continue to shape your way of being in the world.
There is often a growing capacity to stay with what is there, rather than moving away from it too quickly. This can bring a different kind of stability, not because everything is resolved, but because there is more space and awareness around what is happening.
From there, expression becomes more natural. It is not something you need to force, but something that emerges as you come into contact with yourself more directly.
For some people, this opens a sense of freedom in how they move and express themselves. For others, it brings a deeper connection to their emotional life, or a clearer sense of their inner guidance. Often, there is also the experience of being met more fully, both by oneself and within the group.
It is not about becoming a different person, but about having access to more of what is already there, and allowing it to have a place.
The practice
We work through the body, through voice, through movement, and through relational exercises. We explore how to access and express different parts of ourselves in an embodied and enabling way, how to feel supported by an audience, and how to stay with what is happening as it unfolds.
Some of us move fast, others need time. Some lead with instinct, others with feeling or with a more subtle knowing. Here, your pace is respected, and your way is welcomed.
Introduction Weekend (Level 1)
In this introduction weekend, participants learn how to establish a safe and regulated connection with themselves.
We explore how to access and express different inner voices in an embodied and supportive way, how to feel held by the group and the audience, and how to recognise and work with discomfort as it arises. We also explore how to find more ease and pleasure in exploratory play.
This weekend teaches the basics of the Fool Expression practice and gives access to Level 2 retreats, Play Weekends, and side retreats.
This first workshop is for you if:
– you feel a call to express more freely, without overthinking or holding back
– you want to be met in your natural way of moving through the world
– you often feel too much or not enough and want a space where you can simply be
– you sense that parts of you are ready to be seen, even if you do not yet have words for them
A shared space
Fool Expression brings conscious gathering and the magic of theatre back into the centre of the community. A place to play, to explore, and to be who we are, with all the uniqueness and subtlety that comes with it.
It allows us to experience in an embodied way the mystery that links us together, and the transformation that can happen when we meet each other in this way.
Lineage
This work comes from the lineage of the Fool’s work of Franki Anderson. It is also based on the Voice Dialogue model of consciousness and the Psychology of Selves, and is trauma informed. It involves aspects of focusing, authentic movement, shadow work, Internal Family Systems, parts work, and theatre.
Practical note
To preserve the integrity of the group, I reserve the right to continue working with those I feel comfortable with and capable of holding within the group setting.
If you are not able to afford the different prices proposed, do get in touch, as there are a few bursary options available.

“I spent last weekend on my first Fool Expression & I had an absolute ball! Christie holds the space with such calm, grounded & gentle strength. I’m glad I did a whole weekend as it took me till Sunday to really feel the potent potential of this work. As I got more accustomed to the language and began to let it work within me, I began to find a new way of exploring myself in the depths I am used to. What I liked about it, is that it welcomes you wherever you are. I thoroughly recommend working with Christie if you get the opportunity!”
“I just wanted to say thanks again for facilitating this work for us over this last weekend. I did find it challenging, but every time I met with the unknown I was surprised, delighted and had a great sense of relief. For me, the unknown has always been a frightening dark abyss, yet just with this taster intro weekend and stepping into the unknown a few times, my perspective has greatly shifted. It’s still scary yes, but instead of a dark, frightening, all-consuming abyss that must feel horrible and lets just not go there kind of place… I see below me a vast colourful spectrum with so many different shades and hues I can reach, grasp and easily move in to. Going through this process has been like a mirror for my life, and I’ve stopped myself so many times for fear of the unknown. And now is only the beginning, thank you for revealing and sharing this path.”
“The Fool Expression workshop was a chance to listen to parts of me I had buried for a long time and access both difficult and joyous emotions that I had neglected. Christie is a patient and kind facilitator, whose presence soothes the inquietudes of the group from the outset of the retreat. I left the workshop feeling more confident in showing my vulnerable sides and with tools that I could apply to my career, relationships and spirituality. I also recommend Christie’s method of play, for those who may have experimented with meditation and are seeking movement to
“I loved the Fool Expression workshop and Christie’s facilitation – It has definitely made life more fun – I have found more playfulness in everyday situations. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to bring more connection with any parts of their self which might enjoy being gently coaxed out of retirement! I would definitely love to do more.”
