Singing, dancing, prayer and poetry to celebrate the coming of Winter

— Event co-hosted with Amerie Rose and Christie Animas —

For this ceremony, our eyes will be on the approaching Winter Solstice (21/12) which gifts us with one of two still points in the year (the other being Summer Solstice 21-22/06).

In our modernised, domesticated and comfortable existence, it can be difficult to fully sense into this stillness within ourselves, especially as the Festive Season weaves its seductive spell around us. 

.

So here, on this night, together we will create a space for stillness. 

.

And yet, and yet… the cacao will be coursing through our veins, energising our spirits, tempting us towards play, moving us to ’do’ something. 

.

And this will be our dance. 

.

A co-created exploration of the nature of doing and not doing, fully allowing our surrender into all our ways of being in this world.

TIME: arrive at 4.30pm for a cup of tea and some time to land. Ceremony will start at 5pm and end around 9pm.

:: instruments if you have, a cushion to sit on, a blanket to be cosy, a flasque of herb tea to share at the end.

Hello one and all,

.

I look forward to this time with you.

I have been holding ceremonies and spaces for people for many years. 

.

My grounding is in Indigenous North American teachings and Dramatherapy and I use these as a gateways to connect with deeper aspects of ourselves and the world around us. 

.

The evening will be held in a relaxed and welcoming way and I encourage you to bring and share your own ways of making this connection. 

.

Christie and I are on a continuing exploration through the Medicine of the Cacao plant. 

.

We do not put ourselves forward as ’Teachers’ or ‘Experts’ in this Way, and invite you to join us on this journey with this in mind. 

.

Sharing your reflections at the end will be a part of our evening and will help us to deepen our understanding of this plant medicine so that we can continue to hold this space for future explorers. 

.

Our experience so far is that Cacao gives energy to our joy, our playfulness and our willingness to connect with each other, and my facilitation will be towards this end.

This Cacao Ceremony offers a really special time to be together as a creative tribe and to dive in together in the Spirit of Play, Prayer, Singing Improvisation, Dance and Celebration.

In this an anchoring and grounding way to make the transition of the change of Season.
